Taste + Temperature + Texture

Besides Cookhouse Hero, other smart food educators for kids are two moms and dieticians* who talk about how WORDS MATTER. Plant-Based Juniors teaches us that instead of saying the words healthy and unhealthy, we can use words like nutritious and not nutritious. Or, when we say the words good and bad, we're not really describing the taste and temperature and texture of foods and drinks. The words good and bad don't express details.

I absolutely love, love, love words and think these words are pretty cool. The vocabulary list above can help you find words for describing the wonderful world of food. Don't know a word? Look it up and add it to your notebook!

* Some dietitians know a lot about food and nutritious eating. That's because some of them are people who are experts in food. They can help people decide what to eat, when to eat, and almost anything else about food!

BONUS:

Write two or three foods that you eat with these tastes for each category:

SWEET / SALTY / SPICY / BITTER / SOUR
