Ethical Vegan

An ethical vegan (aka: moral vegan) is someone who not only follows a classic vegan diet, but extends the philosophy into other areas of their lives and opposes the use of animals for any purpose. They believe that animals, like humans, should not be viewed purely as economic commodities, and that humans don’t have the right to abuse other species just because they’re at the top of the food chain.

To an ethical vegan, human rights and animal rights are one and the same. They oppose eating animals and animal products, wearing furs, wool, or leather, and using animals in science experiments. I’ve met several ethical vegans who are passionate about creating more equilibrium in the world. Dr Barnard, founder of the PCRM - Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine – is one of the most influential voices in the ethical animal policy arena.

Cookhouse Hero asks you to consider this: Allow your heart to break for a couple hours while watching one of the many factory animal farming (CAFO) films or a documentary about university labs. This experience might shift your world-view in a more understanding and empathetic direction. Please don't look the other way.
