Guide for Beginners
Welcome!
“If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.”
- Dolly Parton, American Songwriter + Musician + Entrepreneur

Intrigued? Ready to learn more? This handy resource, focused on a plant-powered diet and lifestyle, was designed with love from a seasoned educator and a mostly recovered food junkie. The educational and fun CH pages as well as external links in this guide can support your Food + Fitness as Medicine adventure (check out the Legal Stuff page here). It can also help you navigate through the out-of-control mis/disinformation campaigns found in so-called research, twisted marketing campaigns, and conflicts-of-interest dietary guidelines. Try to concentrate on positive contributions towards a possible hospital-free life for humans, a kind world for food animals, and stable eco-systems for the planet!

This Guide for Beginners is organized into three color-coded steps:

  1. STEP ONE: Just Curious? (orange)

  2. STEP TWO: Rather Interested? (orange + green)

  3. STEP THREE: Almost Convinced? (orange + green + grey)

Please note: Most of these resources are WPF. However, a few are plant-based, vegan, or vegetarian. I've learned that we all have our own unique path and process towards plants. Now with food education at your fingertips, I trust you'll find YOUR own way towards a possible hospital-free life. Need support? LMK. So... what's for supper tonight?

Heads up if you take medications! One positive and common side effect of eating an abundance of whole plants is the rapid need to reduce or eliminate medications. A WPF diet and lifestyle may likely lead to the physiological necessity to get weaned off pills (and in some cases, the need to cancel an upcoming surgery). Your healthcare provider should be made aware of any changes in your diet and lifestyle as soon as possible. One more (unfortunate) heads up: most physicians aren't trained in food science, so you might have to 1) educate your doctor (this is real), or 2) find an integrative, functional, or lifestyle physician who can support your transition.
